Chicago White SoxvsMinnesota Twins
CHW 7/MIN 4
Things to say
The Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 7-4 at Target Field.
01
opener
Sox took it 7-4 up in Minnesota. Bats got going early and they never really gave it back. Solid getaway-day win on the road.
02
key player
The heart of the White Sox order carried it — seven runs doesn't happen without somebody squaring up the heart of the plate all night.
03
hot take
Twins bullpen let that one slip. Manager went to the pen too early and it cost him.
04
deep cut
Minnesota's sitting under .500 at 64-71 and it shows — Chicago at 71-63 is quietly the better club right now.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if the Sox can carry that lineup into the next one.
The recap
The White Sox went into Target Field and walked out with a 7-4 win, and honestly they've quietly turned into a real team this year at 71-63. Chicago put up seven on the road, and once they got the heart of the order rolling the Twins bullpen just couldn't slam the door.
Minnesota, sitting under .500 at 64-71, kept it close for a while but never found the counterpunch. Getaway-day baseball, and the visitors were the ones who packed for the flight home happy.
