New York YankeesvsLos Angeles Angels
NYY 7/LAA 3
Things to say
The Yankees beat the Angels 7-3 on the road at Angel Stadium.
01
opener
Yankees took care of business in Anaheim, 7-3. Never really felt close after they got the bats going. Angels just don't have the arms to hang right now.
02
key player
The heart of that Yankee order did all the damage tonight — a couple of them left the yard and put it out of reach early. That lineup is scary when it clicks.
03
hot take
Honestly at 53-86 the Angels are just playing out the string. This one was over by the middle innings.
04
deep cut
Getaway-day feel to it, day game after a night game — you could tell the Angels' pen was gassed. Yankees pounced the second the starter came out.
05
exit
Bronx is rolling at 79-60 — the real test is when they run into a real rotation. Anyway, we'll see if they keep it going.
The recap
The Yankees rolled into Anaheim and handled business, tagging the Angels 7-3 to keep their playoff push humming. New York's bat stayed hot through the heart of the order, and once they built the cushion the bullpen slammed the door with no drama.
The Angels, buried at 53-86, just don't have the arms to hang when a lineup like this gets rolling. Nothing flashy here, just a good team beating a bad one on a quiet night in Southern California.
