The recap
Yankees rolled into Sutter Health Park and just bludgeoned the Athletics, 13-8, in what felt like a getaway-day slugfest from the jump. The heart of the order did the heavy lifting — every time the A's clawed back, New York answered with another crooked number, and a couple balls left the yard at the worst possible time for Oakland.
Athletics' manager went to the pen way too early and it showed, the middle relief just couldn't find the zone or got into too much of the hitters' stuff. Yankees move to 36-23 and the A's drop under .500 at 28-31, and honestly it wasn't even as close as the five-run gap suggests.
