New York YankeesvsBaltimore Orioles
NYY 6/BAL 1
Things to say
The Yankees beat the Orioles 6-1 at Camden Yards.
01
opener
Yanks handled Baltimore 6-1 down in Camden. Never really felt close after the middle innings. New York's just the deeper team right now.
02
key player
The Yankees starter was the story. Got into his stuff early, cruised through the heart of the order, and the one run was basically garbage time.
03
hot take
Honestly this Orioles offense is a mess. One run at home? That lineup should be scaring people and it's just not.
04
deep cut
Baltimore's at 61-67 now, ten under. For a young club that was supposed to take a step, that's a quietly rough season.
05
exit
Yanks are rolling at 72-55, so I'll see where they stack up after this series wraps.
The recap
Yankees rolled into Camden Yards and left the yard scoreboard lopsided, taking this one 6-1 behind a starter who clearly got into his stuff early. Baltimore managed a single run and never really threatened, their bats going quiet against New York's arms while the bullpen slammed the door late.
The Orioles just don't have the horses right now sitting at 61-67, and this was over well before the ninth. Yankees keep humming along at 72-55 and pad the win column on a quiet getaway-type night in Baltimore.
