The Yankees went into the Trop and hung a crooked number, cruising to a 12-4 laugher on getaway day. Twelve runs means the heart of the order was doing damage all afternoon and the ball was leaving the yard.
Tampa's manager had to go to the pen early once this one got out of hand, and it never got close after that. Rays are still 54-37 and sitting pretty, but the Bombers grab this one going away.
