The recap
Yankees-Red Sox at Fenway needed extra innings, and Boston walked it off 5-4 in the tenth to steal one from a New York club that's been bullying the division all year. This had the feel of a getaway-day grind, knotted up late before the Sox pushed the winning run across once free baseball started.
The bullpen battle kept it tight, and Boston cashed in when it finally got a runner home in the bottom of the tenth. Nice scalp for a sub-.500 Red Sox team knocking off a Yankees squad sitting at 48-35.
