Alcorn State Lady BravesvsOle Miss Rebels
ALCN 38/MISS 80
Things to say
Ole Miss handled Alcorn State 80-38 in their season opener at home.
01
opener
Yeah, that one was over early. Ole Miss ate them up from the jump and cruised, 80-38. Never felt close.
02
key player
Jaida Civil ran the show — 17 and 5 dimes. She was getting buckets in the paint whenever she wanted.
03
hot take
Holding anybody to 38 is nuts. That Rebels D is gonna travel in SEC play.
04
deep cut
Jade Tillman grabbed 11 boards too. They owned the glass all night, nobody else cracked double digits either way.
05
exit
Good tune-up, but we'll see what they've got once the schedule toughens up.
The recap
Ole Miss opened the season by taking Alcorn State to the woodshed, 80-38, and it was never close. Jaida Civil ran the show with 17 points and 5 dimes, basically an all-around clinic, while Jade Tillman went to work on the glass for 11 boards.
Alcorn couldn't buy a bucket all night, getting held to a measly 38 and not a single player cracking double figures. This one was a wire-to-wire beatdown.
