Lipscomb BisonsvsVanderbilt Commodores
LIP 53/VAN 112
Things to say
Vanderbilt blew out Lipscomb 112-53 at home to open the season.
01
opener
Vandy didn't just win, they ran Lipscomb off the floor. 112-53 at home. It was over by halftime.
02
key player
Mikayla Blakes went for 27 and 9 and barely broke a sweat. She was getting buckets whenever she wanted.
03
hot take
You put up 112 in a season opener? That's not just a good team, that's a team with a chip on its shoulder.
04
deep cut
Watch Aubrey Galvan — 11 dimes, and she was the one really running the show. Blakes gets the headlines but Galvan set the table all night.
05
exit
Anyway, if they keep sharing the rock like that, nobody in the SEC wants to see them. On to the next one.
The recap
Vanderbilt opened the season by hanging a buck-twelve on Lipscomb and cruising to a 112-53 blowout that was never close. Mikayla Blakes ran the show with 27 points and 9 boards, flirting with a double-double while Aubrey Galvan dropped a slick 11 dimes to keep the buckets flowing.
Lipscomb just couldn't buy a bucket, and McKayla Miller's 16 was the only real bright spot in a night where they got run off the floor. From the jump this was an absolute clinic — Vandy ate them up on both ends.
