South Carolina opened the season by hanging a buck-oh-one on Maryland and taking the 101-93 win at home. Joyce Edwards led the way with 23, Ashlyn Watkins cleaned up the glass with 10 boards, and the Gamecocks just had too many bodies putting up buckets.
