The Mets came into Progressive Field and turned a getaway day into batting practice, hanging 13 on Cleveland and cruising to a 13-6 win. This one got out of hand early — the heart of the Mets order kept the line moving and the pile of runs made whatever the Guardians answered feel like garbage time.
Cleveland's pen took a beating once the game tilted, and there was no clawing back from that kind of deficit. Ugly night at home for the Guards, but a Mets club sitting well under .500 will happily take the crooked numbers.
