Houston AstrosvsTexas Rangers

HOU 5/TEX 1

ESPN Unlmtd/MLB.TVGlobe Life Field
Things to say

Astros beat the Rangers 5-1 at Globe Life Field.

01
opener
Astros took care of business in Arlington, 5-1. Felt like Houston had the lineup dialed in all night. Rangers bats just never showed up.
02
key player
Houston's starter got into his stuff early — kept the heart of the order off balance and only let one run cross.
03
hot take
Texas at 25-31 is not a fluke anymore, that's just who they are right now.
04
deep cut
Rangers managed one run at home in a hitter's park — that's a pitching staff problem and a lineup problem.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if Houston can keep it rolling in the next one — this series isn't over yet.
The recap

Astros rolled into Globe Life and took care of business, 5-1, in a tidy little Lone Star tilt that never really felt close after the middle innings. Houston's bats finally got into the Rangers starter's stuff and pushed it open while their own guy was carving — looked like the kind of outing where the southpaw was hitting his spots and the heart of the order did the rest.

Texas managed exactly one run on the board, which tells you everything about how flat the lineup looked at home. Rangers slip to 25-31 and you can feel the manager already eyeing the bullpen usage for the rest of this set.
