Pitcher's duel at Oracle, and the Giants squeaked out a 2-1 nail-biter over the A's. Runs were at a premium all night with both staffs locking in the heart of the order, so every base hit felt like gold.
San Francisco scratched across just enough, then leaned on the bullpen to slam the door and protect the one-run lead. Tough luck for the A's, who pitched well enough to win but couldn't push that second run home.
