The recap
This was a good old-fashioned pitchers' duel on the South Side, and the White Sox squeaked out a 1-0 win over the A's. Nobody's bats got going all afternoon, so the whole thing came down to one run and whoever's arm blinked first, and it was Oakland that cracked.
Chicago's staff was locked in, keeping runners off and never letting the A's put together anything through the heart of the order. Ugly to some, beautiful to a pitching nerd, but a win's a win and the Sox take it.
