Atlanta BravesvsCincinnati Reds
ATL 5/CIN 2
Braves beat the Reds 5-2 at Great American Ball Park.
Braves rolled into Great American and walked out with a 5-2 win, pushing Atlanta to a ridiculous 40-19 while Cincinnati slipped back under .500 at 29-28. Without a box score in front of me the line tells the story — three runs of separation in a bandbox like GABP usually means somebody in the heart of the Atlanta order left the yard and the starter kept the Reds from stringing anything together.
Cincinnati's two runs suggest the bullpen held serve late but the damage was already done, and you can bet the manager was second-guessing when he went to the pen. Getaway-day vibes for the Reds, business as usual for the best record in baseball.
