Milwaukee BrewersvsArizona Diamondbacks
MIL 3/ARI 2
Things to say
The Brewers edged the Diamondbacks 3-2 in Arizona.
01
opener
Yeah, Brewers grinded out a 3-2 win at Chase. Tight one the whole way, nobody left the yard. Came down to the last couple innings like you knew it would.
02
key player
Milwaukee's pen was the story. Slammed the door in a one-run game and made those late outs look routine. That's a playoff bullpen right there.
03
hot take
Arizona's under .500 and it's not bad luck. They can't scratch across runs against decent arms, two runs isn't gonna cut it.
04
deep cut
Milwaukee's sitting at 55-33 and nobody's talking about them. Best record nobody mentions, and they just took it on the road on a getaway day.
05
exit
Anyway, Brewers keep rolling, we'll see if the D-backs can answer tomorrow.
The recap
Brewers snuck out of the desert with a 3-2 win, and it was the kind of getaway-day grind where every run felt like pulling teeth. Milwaukee scratched across just enough against Arizona, and once they handed it to the bullpen they slammed the door and never looked back.
That's now 55-33 for the Brew Crew, who just keep finding ways to win these one-run knife fights. Arizona, meanwhile, drops back under .500 at 44-45 and has to be sick of leaving guys stranded.
