Milwaukee BrewersvsLos Angeles Dodgers
MIL 6/LAD 2
Things to say
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 at Dodger Stadium.
01
opener
Brewers went into Dodger Stadium and took it 6-2. Milwaukee's just the better team right now, and the record backs it up. LA never really got their bats going.
02
key player
Milwaukee's starter was the story. Got into his stuff early and gave the bullpen a breather in a spot where you need it.
03
hot take
I don't care that the Dodgers are the Dodgers. The Brewers own the best record in the league for a reason, and nobody's talking about them.
04
deep cut
That's Milwaukee at 77-48, three games up on LA in the standings. On the road, on a getaway spot, that's the kind of quiet win that matters in October.
05
exit
Anyway, if these two meet again in the playoffs, I'm taking Milwaukee. We'll see.
The recap
Milwaukee walked into Dodger Stadium and stole one, 6-2, and it wasn't as close as the score makes it look. The Brewers got into their stuff early against LA and kept tacking on, while the Dodgers' bats never really got going and stalled out at two.
Milwaukee's staff held the heart of the order in check and the bullpen slammed the door late. That's a statement win for the club with the best record in baseball on a getaway day in enemy territory.
