Milwaukee BrewersvsColorado Rockies
MIL 7/COL 1
Things to say
Brewers beat the Rockies 7-1 at Coors Field.
01
opener
Brewers rolled the Rockies 7-1 in Denver. At Coors Field, of all places. Milwaukee just keeps cooking.
02
key player
Whoever Milwaukee ran out there got into his stuff early and never gave it back — one run at altitude is a clinic.
03
hot take
The Rockies aren't a last-place team, they're a rebuild that forgot to start. 24-41 at home isn't bad luck.
04
deep cut
One run at Coors. One. That ballpark turns soft contact into doubles and they still couldn't string anything together.
05
exit
Anyway — Brewers are 39-23 now, NL Central's basically theirs to lose. Curious who they line up next.
The recap
Brewers rolled into Coors and made it look easy, hanging a 7-spot on the Rockies while Colorado's bats went quiet all night. Milwaukee's been the class of the NL Central and this was more of the same, the heart of the order doing damage in a yard that usually gives hitters on both sides plenty to work with.
Colorado managed exactly one run, which tells you the bullpen never really got a breather and nobody got into his stuff for the Rox. At 39-23, the Brewers are cruising; the Rockies dropped to 24-41 and it's shaping up to be another long summer in Denver.
