Brighton & Hove AlbionvsChelsea
BHA 3/CHE 4
Things to say
Chelsea beat Brighton 4-3 at Stamford Bridge.
01
opener
Seven goals at the Bridge, that one had everything. Chelsea edged Brighton 4-3 but it was way closer than the final says. Back and forth the whole way.
02
key player
João Pedro ran the show up top, five shots and 15 accurate passes. Guy was involved in everything Chelsea did going forward.
03
hot take
Chelsea won but that defense is a problem. You can't leak three at home and act like it's fine. Somebody's got to sort out the back line.
04
deep cut
Brighton's Vuskovic quietly put up 88 accurate passes and nine defensive stops. Kid never stopped, and he's the one who deserved a point out of it.
05
exit
Anyway, if both these teams keep trading punches like that, I'm circling their next matchup already.
The recap
Chelsea and Brighton put on a wild one at Stamford Bridge, with the home side edging it 4-3 in a game that never bothered with defense. João Pedro was everywhere, leading Chelsea in shots and passes while pulling the strings up front.
Brighton kept swinging and got three of their own, but every time they clawed back into it, Chelsea had an answer. Two games in and Chelsea are perfect, but nobody's going to call that a clean sheet.
