EPL The marquee game today is Arsenal traveling to face Aston Villa at Villa Park, with Arsenal off to a perfect start this season and heavily favored at minus one eighty five on the odds board. Aston Villa will need a big performance in front of their home crowd to avoid an early setback, and keep an eye out for any slick through balls or a clean sheet if either side's defense holds strong. With the over under set at two and a half goals, this one could easily end up a tight, low scoring affair or even threaten to stay nil-nil deep into the second half.
MLB The marquee action right now is Phillies at Angels, where Philadelphia has torched the Angels bullpen for a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth, so the Angels need a miracle rally or it's a getaway day loss for a club well under .500. Later tonight keep an eye on Brewers at Cubs, a heavyweight NL Central clash between a Milwaukee club playing like the league's best team and a Chicago squad fighting to hold serve at home. Mets at Rays is worth a glance too, with Tampa Bay big favorites and a low over-under suggesting both starters should work deep into the game if they keep their stuff sharp.
MLS The marquee game tonight is FC Dallas visiting St. Louis CITY SC at Energizer Park, and it is as even as matchups get, with both sides sitting at identical 9-6-6 records. Expect a tight midfield battle for playoff positioning where a single through ball or a lucky sitter could decide it, so do not be shocked if this one grinds toward a nil-nil scoreline before somebody finds the net late. Keep an eye on whichever keeper posts the clean sheet, since goal difference could matter down the stretch.
WNBA Golden State Valkyries at Portland Fire is the marquee tip tonight, and with Golden State sitting at 28-11 against Portland's 16-23, the Valkyries are favored by 6.5 to keep rolling toward the top of the standings. Watch for Golden State to get out and run early and put this one out of reach before the fourth. Nightcap has Connecticut Sun heading to Dallas as heavy 15.5-point underdogs, so unless Connecticut finds some buckets in a hurry, expect the Wings to eat them up at home.
