Ipswich TownvsManchester United
IPS 2/MAN 5
Things to say
Manchester United beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford.
01
opener
United finally looked like United. Five goals at Old Trafford, and it wasn't even that close. Ipswich got a couple back but they were chasing the whole way.
02
key player
Bruno Fernandes ran the whole thing. Eight shots on his own, everything went through him. That's the version of him they've been paying for.
03
hot take
Don't let the two goals fool you, Ipswich are getting relegated. You can't ship five and call it a good day.
04
deep cut
Their keeper Scherpen made six saves and still let in five. Without him it's seven or eight, honestly.
05
exit
Anyway, big test next week, we'll see if they can do it against somebody good. That's the real question.
The recap
Manchester United hosted Ipswich at Old Trafford and turned it into a rout, 5-2. Bruno Fernandes was the engine, peppering the goal with eight shots and running the show through the middle.
Ipswich actually found the net twice, so no clean sheet for United, but they were chasing the game the whole way. When you concede five at Old Trafford, the scoreboard tells the story.
