Texas RangersvsMilwaukee Brewers
TEX 7/MIL 4
Things to say
The Rangers went into Milwaukee and beat the NL-best Brewers 7-4.
01
opener
Rangers stole one on the road, 7-4 over Milwaukee. Texas is way under .500 but they swung it like the standings didn't matter. Brewers just never got the big hit.
02
key player
The heart of the Texas order did the damage early and put four on the board before Milwaukee blinked. That top third carried them all night.
03
hot take
Best record in the league and the Brewers get run off their own field by a sub-.500 club? That bullpen is not October-ready.
04
deep cut
Getaway day at American Family and Milwaukee looked flat from the jump. Felt like they had one eye on the flight out.
05
exit
Anyway, Brewers are still cruising to the division. Curious if Texas can carry any of this into their next series.
The recap
Texas walked into American Family Field and knocked off the best team in the National League, 7-4, spoiling a getaway day for Milwaukee. The Rangers put up enough offense to stay ahead all afternoon while the Brewers, at 85-52, just couldn't string together the big inning to claw back.
It's a nice scalp for a sub-.500 Texas club playing spoiler down the stretch. Milwaukee's bullpen couldn't slam the door, and the road team cashed in every chance it got.
