Los Angeles DodgersvsDetroit Tigers
LAD 6/DET 1
Things to say
The Dodgers beat the Tigers 6-1 on the road at Comerica Park.
01
opener
Dodgers took care of business in Detroit, 6-1. Never really felt close after they got rolling. Tigers just couldn't string anything together.
02
key player
LA's staff was the story — they got into their stuff early and held the Tigers to one run all day. When the arms are locked in like that, this lineup only needs a few.
03
hot take
Honestly the Tigers are playing out the string. Sitting under .500 in late August, this is a lost season no matter how you spin it.
04
deep cut
Getaway day at Comerica, day game, and Detroit's bats looked half-asleep. One run at home tells you the heart of the order never showed up.
05
exit
LA's rolling at 82-55 — I'd keep an eye on them down the stretch. Should be a fun October.
The recap
Dodgers rolled into Comerica on a getaway day and left with a tidy 6-1 win over Detroit. LA's starter got into his stuff early and went deep, keeping the Tigers' bats quiet all afternoon while the heart of the order did the damage.
Detroit scratched across a single run and never really threatened, letting the bullpen coast home. Same old story for a first-place club now sitting at 82-55, while the Tigers drop to 63-73 and let another one slip.
