Miami MarlinsvsWashington Nationals
MIA 6/WSH 2
Things to say
The Marlins beat the Nationals 6-2 at Nationals Park.
01
opener
Marlins took it 6-2 in DC. Miami jumped on them early and never really looked back. Nats just couldn't string anything together.
02
key player
Miami's bat got hot at the right time. Six runs on a getaway day, and the heart of the order did the damage.
03
hot take
Honestly the Nats bullpen has been letting these slip all year. Two runs isn't gonna win you many games.
04
deep cut
Marlins are 69-68 now, hanging around .500. Nobody's talking about them but they keep grinding these out.
05
exit
Anyway, Miami's actually got a little something going. Curious how they look in the next series.
The recap
Miami went into Nationals Park on a getaway day and grabbed a 6-2 win that never felt all that close. The Marlins put up crooked numbers and let their arms do the rest, keeping the Nats bats quiet all afternoon.
Washington scratched across a couple but never really threatened once Miami built the cushion. That's a nice road bounce for the Fish, who climb back over .500 while the Nationals keep spinning their wheels.
