Boston Red SoxvsNew York Yankees
BOS 1/NYY 16
Things to say
The Yankees hammered the Red Sox 16-1 at Yankee Stadium.
01
opener
Yeah, that one got ugly fast. Yankees put up 16 and Boston never showed up. Sixteen to one, it was over by the middle innings.
02
key player
The whole heart of the order was locked in — barreling everything up. When the Bombers get rolling like that at home, forget it.
03
hot take
That's not a Boston pitching problem, that's a Boston everything problem. Sox are fading down the stretch.
04
deep cut
Getaway day too, so Boston's got a long flight to sit with a 15-run loss. That stuff lingers in a clubhouse.
05
exit
Anyway, these two see each other again soon — Boston's gonna want to bury that one quick.
The recap
This one was over early — the Yankees hung a 16-spot on the Red Sox and never looked back at the Stadium. Boston's starter never got into his stuff, and once the heart of the order got going, the runs just kept pouring in.
A 16-1 laugher in a rivalry game is about as good as a getaway day gets for the Bronx faithful. The Sox will want to burn the tape on this one and move on quick.
