Kansas City RoyalsvsCleveland Guardians
KC 1/CLE 11
Things to say
The Cleveland Guardians blew out the Kansas City Royals 11-1 at Progressive Field.
01
opener
Guardians took the Royals to the woodshed, 11-1. It was over by the middle innings. KC never had a pulse.
02
key player
The Cleveland bats did all the damage, put up double digits and never looked back. Kansas City had nothing going against them all day.
03
hot take
Honestly the Royals mailed this one in. Getaway day, long season, you could see it in the at-bats.
04
deep cut
Ten-run gap and the Guardians barely needed the heart of the order to do it. That's a full-lineup beating.
05
exit
Anyway, blowouts are blowouts. Curious if KC can bounce back next series or if this is just how it's gonna go.
The recap
Cleveland took KC to the woodshed at Progressive Field, 11-1, and it was never close. The bats woke up early and just kept piling on, turning a getaway day into a laugher by the middle innings.
Kansas City's starter got knocked around and the pen didn't slow the bleeding, while the one lonely run was all the Royals could scratch together. When you hang a crooked number that fast, the rest is just running out the clock.
