Charlotte FCvsToronto FC
CLT 3/TOR 3
Things to say
Toronto FC and Charlotte FC played to a wild 3-3 draw at BMO Field.
01
opener
Six goals, nobody wins. Toronto and Charlotte went 3-3 at BMO Field. Total end-to-end stuff, defending optional.
02
key player
Luka Gavran made seven saves in the Toronto net and still shipped three. Keep him out and Charlotte runs away with it.
03
hot take
Charlotte's the playoff team here and they let two points slip against a bottom-three side. That's a soft draw.
04
deep cut
Saint-Maximin put up four shots and couldn't put the game to bed. Schnegg was busy too, eleven defensive actions, and it still wasn't enough.
05
exit
Anyway, a point apiece. We'll see if either one can actually defend next week.
The recap
Six goals, no winner, and both these sides will feel they let two points slip at BMO Field. Toronto, stuck near the bottom, threw punches with a much better-placed Charlotte and traded blows all night to earn a wild 3-3.
Keeper Luka Gavran was the reason Toronto even got a point, standing on his head for seven saves as Charlotte peppered him. Allan Saint-Maximin buzzed around all game, but Charlotte's inability to close it out is the kind of dropped result that comes back to haunt you in the playoff race.
