The morning line

MLB The marquee tilt is Atlanta Braves at Minnesota Twins, with the Braves riding a strong 74-52 record into Target Field looking to keep the heart of their order producing runs against a Twins club that's scuffling to stay above .500. Keep an eye on New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles too, a tight AL matchup where whichever bullpen holds up late could decide it, especially if a starter doesn't work deep into the game. Also worth mentioning around the watercooler: Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies has an inflated over-under near eleven and a half, so expect some balls to leave the yard early at Coors Field.

MLS The marquee matchup is Houston Dynamo FC at Vancouver Whitecaps, a top-of-the-table clash between two of MLS's stingiest clubs this season, and Vancouver's home crowd will be loud given the Whitecaps are favored to keep a clean sheet. Also keep an eye on Nashville SC visiting Red Bull New York, since Nashville has been one of the league's form teams and a road win would be a real statement. Elsewhere it's a stacked Wednesday slate across the league, so there should be no shortage of late goals and stoppage-time drama to catch up on tomorrow.

NFL The marquee game is Las Vegas Raiders at Houston Texans, with Houston favored by a field goal and change as both clubs try to shake off 0-1 preseason starts before final roster cuts loom. Vegas has to prove it can move the ball against a Texans defense that should still bail out any shaky quarters, and with the total sitting near 40.5, this one leans smashmouth rather than shootout. Later, San Francisco heads to LA to face the Chargers, a get-right spot for the 49ers as they try to avoid another slow start and cover the small spread against a Justin Herbert-led offense that can pile up garbage-time stats in a hurry.

WNBA The marquee tilt is Minnesota Lynx at Golden State Valkyries, two of the WNBA's best teams with the Lynx sitting at 29-7 but somehow catching points on the road, so expect buckets in the paint and no one taking their foot off the gas late. Keep an eye on Indiana Fever at Dallas Wings too, a tight spread game where either backcourt could ice it with a dagger three. Vegas hosting Connecticut is the lopsided one on paper, so watch for the Aces to run up the score early and put it away before the fourth quarter even starts.
