New England RevolutionvsD.C. United
NE 3/DC 0
Things to say
New England Revolution beat D.C. United 3-0 at Audi Field.
01
opener
Revs went into D.C. and put up a clean three-nil. Never really in doubt once New England settled in. Audi Field crowd was dead by the end.
02
key player
Matt Turner is just different in that goal. Four shots his way, clean sheet, barely broke a sweat. That's your USMNT keeper right there.
03
hot take
D.C. at 5-9-6 is straight-up shambolic. They mustered three shots all night at home. That's not a rebuild, that's a mess.
04
deep cut
Matt Polster quietly ran the whole thing, 66 accurate passes from deep. New England dictated tempo through him all match.
05
exit
New England's rolling at 10-3-7, so they're firmly in the playoff hunt. Curious to see if they keep it up down the stretch.
The recap
New England rolled into Audi Field and handed D.C. United a 3-0 paddling, and it wasn't as close as even that suggests.
The Revs were sharp from front to back, with Alhassan Yusuf peppering the goal five times while Matt Turner mopped up the odd chance for a comfortable clean sheet. D.C. kept the ball moving through Lucas Bartlett but never actually threatened, and once the visitors nicked the first the result was never in doubt.
New England march on at 10-3-7; the home side stay stuck in the mud.
