Toronto TempovsWashington Mystics
TOR 82/WSH 93
Things to say
The Washington Mystics beat the Toronto Tempo 93-82 at home.
01
opener
Mystics handled business at home, 93-82. Never really felt close down the stretch. Toronto hung around but Washington pulled away when it mattered.
02
key player
Kiki Iriafen was a problem all night — 21 and 13, just living in the paint. Double-double type, she ate them up inside.
03
hot take
Sitting at 10-25, the expansion Tempo are exactly what everybody expected. Give it a year.
04
deep cut
Sonia Citron quietly ran the show with 6 dimes. Rookie's a real connector, doesn't need buckets to tilt the game.
05
exit
Washington's climbing that playoff bracket now — next one's the real test.
The recap
Washington took care of business at home, handling Toronto 93-82 to nudge over .500 at 21-14. Kiki Iriafen was the engine all night, stuffing the sheet with 21 and 13 for a double-double while doing the dirty work in the paint.
Kiki Rice kept the Tempo within shouting distance with a team-high 19, but Toronto just didn't have enough around her to make a real run. The Mystics controlled it, Iriafen ate them up inside, and the Tempo took another L to drop to 10-25.
