Los Angeles DodgersvsColorado Rockies
LAD 6/COL 4
Things to say
The Dodgers beat the Rockies 6-4 in 10 innings at Coors Field.
01
opener
Dodgers took it 6-4, but they had to grind for it. Went to extras, and LA finally broke through in the tenth. Classic Coors Field slugfest.
02
key player
The heart of that Dodgers order did the damage late. When they got a runner on in the tenth, you kind of knew it was over.
03
hot take
Honestly, Colorado hung around way longer than a 50-77 team should. The Rockies played them tough, altitude does weird things.
04
deep cut
That's the thing about Coors, nobody's WHIP means anything up there. Ball just carries. The bullpen earned its money keeping it 4-4 into extras.
05
exit
Anyway, Dodgers are rolling at 77-51. We'll see if Colorado can steal one before this series wraps.
The recap
Dodgers and Rockies went the distance at Coors, knotted up until LA finally broke it open in the tenth to steal one 6-4. This is the kind of game the Rockies keep letting slip late, and Colorado's bullpen couldn't slam the door once free baseball started.
LA plated a couple in the extra frame, then handed it to the pen to nail it down and keep pace atop the standings. At 77-51, the Dodgers are just doing Dodgers things; the 50-77 Rockies are counting down the days.
