FC DallasvsAustin FC
DAL 2/ATX 1
Things to say
FC Dallas beat Austin FC 2-1 at Q2 Stadium in the Texas derby.
01
opener
Dallas went into Q2 and took the derby 2-1. Austin had the ball but never really made it count. Rough night for the home crowd.
02
key player
Brad Stuver made four saves and still ended up on the losing side. Keep him and Austin gets pasted worse than that.
03
hot take
Austin FC is not a playoff team. Four wins all season and getting outworked at home tells you everything.
04
deep cut
Uzuni only managed two shots up top. When your main striker goes that quiet, you're not winning a derby.
05
exit
Anyway, Dallas are the ones climbing the table now. I want to see if they can back it up on the road next week.
The recap
FC Dallas went into Q2 Stadium and grabbed all three points, edging Austin 2-1 in a spicy Copa Tejas night. Austin threw shots at it and Brad Stuver kept them in it with four saves, but Dallas soaked up the pressure and made their chances count.
The one Austin managed wasn't enough to claw back level. Big road win for Dallas, who keep climbing while Austin's rough season rolls on.
