Arizona DiamondbacksvsAtlanta Braves
ARI 3/ATL 5
Things to say
The Braves beat the Diamondbacks 5-3 at Truist Park to move to 74-50.
01
opener
Braves took care of business at home, 5-3. Never really felt like Arizona had it. Atlanta's just been the better team all year and it showed.
02
key player
The heart of that Braves order did the damage again. One swing left the yard and that was the ballgame right there.
03
hot take
Honestly Arizona's fine, but that bullpen is going to cost them in October. You can't keep handing games away in the middle innings.
04
deep cut
Watch the leverage spots. The manager didn't panic and go to the pen too early, let his guy work through the order, and that patience won it.
05
exit
Anyway, 74-50 now. Braves are cruising into the stretch. Curious to see how they line up the rotation for the next series.
The recap
Braves took care of business at Truist Park, holding off Arizona 5-3 to stay red-hot at 74-50. Atlanta's bats did enough early and the bullpen slammed the door late, never letting the Diamondbacks get the heart of the order rolling.
Arizona hung around and made it a two-run game, but they couldn't cash in when it mattered and left too many guys on base. Solid getaway-day win for a Braves club that just keeps stacking them up.
