The Nationals grabbed one at home, knocking off Arizona 5-3 at the park to inch back over .500 at 53-52. Without much drama on the wire, this had the feel of a game Washington controlled late, the bats doing just enough and the bullpen slamming the door on the D-backs' heart of the order.
Arizona, sitting at 55-50, let a winnable one slip and heads out of town on the wrong end of it. Nothing flashy, but the Nats will take a two-run W any day.
