Cleveland GuardiansvsDetroit Tigers
CLE 0/DET 3
Things to say
The Detroit Tigers shut out the Cleveland Guardians 3-0 at Comerica Park.
01
opener
Tigers took it 3-0, clean shutout at Comerica. Guardians bats never showed up. Classic low-scoring getaway day.
02
key player
Whoever Detroit ran out there dealed all afternoon — you don't blank a lineup for nine without getting into your stuff. The bullpen slammed the door too.
03
hot take
Cleveland's problem isn't pitching, it's the OBP. Heart of the order goes quiet and you get shut out on the road.
04
deep cut
Three runs was all Detroit needed, and they got it without leaving the yard — small ball, not the long ball. Manager let the starter go deep instead of a quick hook to the pen.
05
exit
Anyway, both teams are hovering around .500 — this series still matters for the wild card. Curious who they send tomorrow.
The recap
Getaway day at Comerica and the Tigers slammed the door, blanking Cleveland 3-0 to take the series finale. This one was all about the pitching — Detroit's staff kept the Guardians off the board all afternoon and never let the heart of the order get comfortable.
Three runs was plenty of cushion, and the bullpen closed it out without any drama. Cleveland just couldn't string anything together and heads home stung by the shutout.
