Vegas outlasted Carolina 5-4 in double OT, and Mitch Marner was the whole show with a hat trick and four points on the night. The Hurricanes pushed the favored-on-paper Knights to the brink, trading punches into the third before forcing extras.
Marner's stick was just relentless, and Brayden McNabb feeding him from the back end with two helpers kept Vegas alive every time Carolina tied it up. Brutal loss for a Canes team that had every reason to walk out with two points.
