LA GalaxyvsSan Jose Earthquakes

LA 1/SJ 1

Apple TVStanford Stadium
Things to say

The California Clasico ended 1-1 as LA Galaxy grabbed a road point at Stanford Stadium against San Jose.

01
opener
Cal Clasico finished one-all. Galaxy dug out a draw on the road, which honestly they'll take. San Jose's been the better side all year but couldn't put it away.
02
key player
Timo Werner led the line for San Jose, four shots and clearly the sharpest guy out there, but he's got to bury one of those. That's a point dropped on him.
03
hot take
San Jose at 10-2-4 and they let the Galaxy off the hook at home? That's two points thrown away for a team with title talk.
04
deep cut
JT Marcinkowski made four saves to keep LA in it. Reid Roberts had thirteen defensive interventions in the back too. Grind of a game.
05
exit
Anyway, San Jose's still top of the pile out West. Curious to see if they kick on from here.
The recap

California Clasico ended all square, a 1-1 draw down at Stanford Stadium that neither side will be thrilled with. San Jose keep pace at the top of the table, with Timo Werner peppering the goal all night but never quite finding that killer touch.

LA can count themselves a bit fortunate to nick a point, and JT Marcinkowski earned it with four saves keeping the Quakes at bay. Honors even, and both bosses will feel there were three points on offer here.
