Seattle MarinersvsHouston Astros
SEA 10/HOU 5
Things to say
The Seattle Mariners beat the Houston Astros 10-5 in Houston.
01
opener
Mariners just went into Houston and put up a ten-spot. Ten to five, wasn't even that close late. Seattle's bats were locked in all night.
02
key player
Whoever was in the heart of that Seattle order carried it, they had traffic on the bases every inning. Ten runs doesn't happen by accident.
03
hot take
Astros pitching is the problem, not the offense. You give up ten at home and it's on the arms.
04
deep cut
Houston's manager went to the pen too early and it snowballed. Once the bullpen door opened it was over.
05
exit
Anyway, getaway day tomorrow. We'll see if Seattle can actually keep this going or if it was a one-off.
The recap
Seattle went into Daikin Park and put a 10-5 beatdown on Houston, and it wasn't as close as even that looks. The Mariners kept stacking crooked numbers, working counts and forcing Houston to the pen early, and once the bullpen door opened the floodgates came with it.
The heart of the Seattle order did the damage, leaving the yard and driving in runs in bunches while the Astros never mounted a real answer. On a getaway day in Houston, this one was over long before the last out.
