Seattle MarinersvsBaltimore Orioles
SEA 6/BAL 5
Things to say
Seattle beat Baltimore 6-5 in 10 innings at Camden Yards.
01
opener
Mariners stole one in Baltimore last night, 6-5 in extras. Orioles had it and let it slip in the tenth. Camden was stunned.
02
key player
Seattle's bats finally showed up in the heart of the order — that ghost runner in the tenth basically gift-wrapped the W.
03
hot take
Baltimore's bullpen is cooked. You can't keep blowing leads in the late innings and expect to climb back into the AL East.
04
deep cut
O's are 31-37 now — they were supposed to be a playoff team and they're six under. Something's off in that clubhouse.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if Baltimore can bounce back in the rubber match — getaway day, day game after a night game, always weird.
The recap
Mariners stole one in Baltimore, walking off the Orioles in extras 6-5 on a getaway day at Camden. Tight game all night, neither starter could really put the other lineup away, and once it got to the bullpens you could feel it tilting toward whoever blinked first.
Seattle pushed across the go-ahead in the tenth and the pen slammed the door, dropping the O's another game under .500. Mariners now sit four games over and quietly building something in the AL West.
