Miami MarlinsvsMilwaukee Brewers
MIA 6/MIL 8
Things to say
The Brewers beat the Marlins 8-6 at American Family Field on Saturday.
01
opener
Brewers took it 8-6, but it was closer than the final looked. Miami hung around into the late innings. Milwaukee just had too much in the heart of the order.
02
key player
The Brewers' bats carried it — a couple guys in the middle left the yard and drove in the bulk of those eight runs.
03
hot take
Honestly Milwaukee's starter didn't have his best stuff, but this team wins on offense right now, not pitching.
04
deep cut
Marlins manager went to the pen too early and it cost him — the bullpen just couldn't hold that lead on a getaway day.
05
exit
At 61-37 the Brewers are cruising. Curious to see if Miami can bounce back tomorrow.
The recap
The Brewers outslugged Miami 8-6 at American Family Field to keep rolling toward that 61-win mark. Both bats came to play, but Milwaukee's lineup did just enough damage against the Marlins staff to stay ahead, and every time Miami clawed close, the home crowd had an answer.
It stayed within reach for the Marlins, but the Brewers kept the pressure on late and never let the two-run cushion slip. Milwaukee takes it and the good vibes in Wisconsin keep on humming.
