The Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros have pushed into extras at Daikin Park in a tight 2-1 pitcher's duel, the kind of game where the manager who went to the pen too early is going to look real bad by the time it's over. Tomorrow night is what everybody's circling though: the Los Angeles Dodgers, best record in baseball at 62-36, roll into Yankee Stadium on NBC for a matchup that has all-star weekend hangover written all over it — if your crew is talking baseball, that's your conversation.

WNBA The marquee tip tonight is the New York Liberty rolling into Indianapolis to take on the Indiana Fever — two bubble teams fighting for playoff seeding with the Liberty laying only a point and a half, which tells you everything about how tight this one figures to be. Minnesota Lynx at 19-6 are the class of the league and they'll probably put up buckets in bunches against the Portland Fire at Target Center, but that 12.5-point spread makes it more of a clinic than a contest. On Sunday, catch the Dallas Wings hosting the Los Angeles Sparks on ABC — Dallas at 16-8 has been an absolute force in the paint while the Sparks at 10-14 are running out of runway and need a W badly.

World Cup The marquee event on the slate is the FIFA World Cup Final, with Argentina taking on Spain at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford tomorrow evening — about as big as football gets. Argentina arrive as defending champions looking to go back-to-back, while Spain will be desperate to deny them and claim the trophy on North American soil. A nil-nil draw through ninety minutes would push it to extra time, but expect both sides to push for a winner early rather than settle into the kind of cagey affair that ends in penalties.
