Cincinnati RedsvsColorado Rockies
CIN 3/COL 10
Things to say
The Colorado Rockies beat the Cincinnati Reds 10-3 at Coors Field.
01
opener
Rockies took it 10-3 at Coors. Once they got the bats going in that thin air it was over. Reds pitching just couldn't put anybody away.
02
key player
Colorado's heart of the order was locked in all night. When they're stacking hits like that at home, nobody wants to face them.
03
hot take
Honestly the Reds went to the pen way too early. Their starter still had stuff, and the bullpen just handed it right back.
04
deep cut
Coors always plays like this in the summer heat. Balls that die at sea level were leaving the yard all evening.
05
exit
Anyway, both these teams are under .500, so I'm more curious who they run out there next series. We'll see if the Reds bounce back.
The recap
Coors Field did its thing again, and the Rockies rode it to a 10-3 laugher over Cincinnati. Ten runs at altitude means the bats were barking all afternoon, and once Colorado got rolling the Reds' pen couldn't slow the bleeding.
Cincinnati never really threatened after falling behind, scratching out just three while the home crowd got a rare feel-good day out of a 40-60 club. Getaway-day baseball in the thin air, and the Rockies made the most of it.
