Miami MarlinsvsColorado Rockies
MIA 4/COL 14
Things to say
The Rockies crushed the Marlins 14-4 at Coors Field.
01
opener
Rockies just put up a 14-spot at Coors, man. Marlins never had a chance once the bats woke up. Fourteen to four, wasn't even that close.
02
key player
The heart of the order was cooking all night. Somebody in that lineup left the yard twice and drove in a handful. You leave meatballs at altitude, they end up in the seats.
03
hot take
Honestly the Marlins starter got yanked way too late. Manager left him out there to die. You could see he'd lost his stuff by the third.
04
deep cut
Coors does that though. Ball carries, the OBP stays fat, and one bad inning turns into a laugher. Miami's WHIP out of the pen was ugly too.
05
exit
Anyway, getaway day, so we'll see if the Marlins bounce back on the road. Should be a better matchup next series.
The recap
This one got out of hand fast at Coors, with the Rockies hanging a 14-spot on the Marlins and never looking back. Colorado's bats came alive early and the heart of the order kept the line moving all afternoon, turning a getaway day into a laugher.
Miami's starter never got into his stuff at altitude, and once the bullpen got involved it only got uglier. When you drop 14 at home, you don't need a walk-off — you just cruise.
