Washington MysticsvsLas Vegas Aces
WSH 76/LV 83
Things to say
The Las Vegas Aces beat the Washington Mystics 83-76 at home.
01
opener
Aces took care of business at home, 83-76. Mystics hung around but Vegas had answers every time it got close. Never really felt like Washington was gonna steal it.
02
key player
Jackie Young was just cooking — 32 points and dishing out 5. She was getting buckets in the paint all night, couldn't stop her.
03
hot take
Honestly Vegas didn't even play their best game and still won by seven. That tells you something about this team down the stretch.
04
deep cut
Shakira Austin quietly put up 29 and 8 for Washington. She ate them up inside, they just didn't have enough around her.
05
exit
Aces are locked into that top seed now — 24-11, they're rolling into the playoffs. Should be fun to watch.
The recap
Vegas grinded out an 83-76 win over Washington behind Jackie Young going for 32 and putting on an absolute clinic. Shakira Austin kept the Mystics breathing with 29 and 8 boards, but she couldn't get enough help around her.
The Aces pulled away late and never let Washington get the run they needed to steal it. Young carried this one, buckets whenever they had to have them.
