New England RevolutionvsCF Montréal

NE 2/MTL 2

Apple TVStade Saputo
Things to say

New England and CF Montréal played to a 2-2 draw at Stade Saputo.

01
opener
Two-two, and it deserved to be. Both teams traded punches all night. Montréal grabbed a point they probably didn't expect against a Revs side sitting way up the table.
02
key player
Matt Turner had six saves and still walked away with a draw. Dude's the best keeper we've got and New England still couldn't hold a lead in front of him.
03
hot take
New England's nine-and-three record is a mirage if they keep dropping points to a team sitting near the basement. That's two dropped.
04
deep cut
Synchuk and Turgeman both put up six shots each and neither could put the game to bed. Whole night was end-to-end and nobody grabbed it.
05
exit
Revs need to tighten up before the next one or that cushion at the top disappears real quick.
The recap

Two-all at Stade Saputo, and Montréal will take that point a lot more happily than New England. The Revs came in as the form side but had to grind for a share of the spoils, with Dor Turgeman and Hennadii Synchuk both firing off six shots as neither keeper could keep it clean.

Matt Turner was the busier man between the sticks, racking up six saves to keep New England level. Both sides trudge off with a draw that flatters the hosts and frustrates the visitors.
