New England RevolutionvsToronto FC
NE 1/TOR 2
Things to say
Toronto FC beat New England 2-1 at BMO Field.
01
opener
Toronto finally got one at home, took down New England 2-1. Revs are the better side on paper but they just couldn't finish. BMO was rocking for once.
02
key player
Luka Gavran was the difference in goal, five saves to keep them ahead. Kid stood on his head down the stretch.
03
hot take
New England's got the record but they play soft on the road. Nine wins and they still lay an egg against a bottom-table side.
04
deep cut
Watch Walker Zimmerman, 13 defensive interventions in the back. Guy was cleaning up everything Toronto threw away.
05
exit
Long season though, Revs'll be fine come playoff time. Curious to see if Toronto can back it up next week.
The recap
Toronto pulled off a proper upset here, downing New England 2-1 at BMO Field despite the Revs coming in as the far better side on paper. Luka Gavran was the difference in goal, standing tall for five saves to keep the visitors at bay when they came knocking.
Walker Zimmerman was an absolute rock at the back too, throwing his body in front of everything with 13 defensive interventions. New England will feel they should've taken something from this one, but Toronto dug in and nicked all three points.
