Baltimore OriolesvsMinnesota Twins
BAL 5/MIN 9
Things to say
The Twins beat the Orioles 9-5 at Target Field.
01
opener
Twins took it nine to five. Their bats just kept coming — you could feel it turning over. Orioles never really settled in.
02
key player
Somebody in the heart of that Twins order left the yard — check the box, but the whole lineup was locked in.
03
hot take
Nine runs? The Orioles' bullpen basically handed that one over. Their manager left the starter out to dry.
04
deep cut
Fifty-nine and sixty-one now for Minnesota — they're playing spoiler more than contender, and it shows in how loose they swing.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if the O's can bounce back tomorrow — getaway day, so bring the bats.
The recap
The Twins jumped on Baltimore and never really let them back in, riding a nine-run outburst to a comfortable 9-5 win at Target Field on a getaway day. Minnesota's bats did the heavy lifting, stacking runs against an Orioles staff that couldn't find the strike zone when it mattered.
Baltimore scratched five across to keep it interesting, but every time they clawed close the Twins answered right back. Minnesota climbs to 59-61 while the O's drop another one at 57-62.
