Padres rolled into Busch and took the bats away from St. Louis, cruising to a 6-1 win that wasn't really that close.
San Diego's starter clearly got into his stuff early, and once the heart of the order put a couple in the gap, the Cardinals never threatened. You could argue the manager went to the pen too early once it got out of hand, but honestly the damage was done by then.
Padres climb to 38-35 and head home feeling good; St. Louis drops to 40-32 and has to flush this one on a getaway day.
