Dodgers put up a twelve-spot on the Padres last night. It got out of hand early. San Diego kept clawing back but the hole was just too deep.

The heart of the order carried it for LA. Two of those runs came on one swing that left the yard in a hurry.

San Diego's manager went to the pen way too early. You've got a starter with good stuff and you yank him? That's how a close game turns into a 12-7.

Padres actually out-hit them for a stretch, but their OBP means nothing when they can't string it together. Left a ton of guys on base.

The recap
The Dodgers turned this one into a slugfest and came out on the right side, hanging a dozen on the Padres to close it out 12-7. San Diego kept swinging and got it to within striking distance, but LA's lineup just kept the line moving and left too much room to make up.
Both starters clearly didn't have their best stuff, and once the bullpens got involved the bats did the talking. At 57-31, the Dodgers keep rolling while the Padres sit right at .500 and head home with plenty to figure out.
