Philadelphia PhilliesvsMinnesota Twins
PHI 7/MIN 1
Things to say
The Phillies beat the Twins 7-1 at the Field of Dreams game in Iowa.
01
opener
Phillies rolled the Twins 7-1 out at the Field of Dreams. Never really felt close. Philly jumped on them early and coasted.
02
key player
Their starter was the story for me. Got into his stuff, went deep into the game, kept the heart of the Twins order off balance all night.
03
hot take
Twins offense is just flat right now. One run at a made-for-TV park like that? That's a wasted stage.
04
deep cut
Playing it in the cornfield again for Netflix was a nice touch, but Minnesota went to the pen too early and it snowballed on them.
05
exit
Phillies are cooking at 65-58 though. Curious to see if they keep it going next series.
The recap
The Phillies rolled into the Field of Dreams cornfield and left with a 7-1 laugher over the Twins on Netflix. Philly's starter got into his stuff early and went deep into the game, keeping Minnesota's bats quiet all night while the offense chipped away and then blew it open.
The one run the Twins scratched across was all they'd get, and it never felt close after the middle innings. Getaway-day baseball for Minnesota, and they'll want to forget this one fast.
