The recap
Pirates absolutely steamrolled the A's 12-4 out in Sacramento, and it wasn't even that close once the dust settled. Pittsburgh's bats came alive early and never let up, with the heart of the order doing the heavy lifting and at least a couple balls leaving the yard.
The A's starter clearly didn't have it, and the manager went to the pen too early, which just opened the floodgates. Pirates climb back over .500 at 38-37, A's drop to 36-38 and have to wear this one on a getaway day.
